Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to transparency, usability, and continuous improvement in digital accessibility.
Grenadier Holdings is committed to ensuring that our digital services are accessible, usable, and inclusive for the widest possible audience. We aim to provide a website experience that works for all users, regardless of ability, technology, or environment.
Although Grenadier Holdings is not legally required to publish an accessibility statement, we are committed to transparency and continuous improvement in the accessibility of our digital services.
This accessibility statement applies to grenadier-holdings.com.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. These guidelines include three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
Based on our most recent internal review, Grenadier Holdings is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
Partially conformant means that some parts of the website do not fully meet the accessibility standard.
We are actively addressing known issues and have begun a structured programme of updates as part of our broader website refresh project. Our goal is to improve conformance and ensure a more accessible experience for all users.
Known Accessibility Limitations
We are aware of the following areas where accessibility improvements are required. These issues have been documented and scheduled for remediation:
- Non-unique link text: Some pages contain multiple links with identical labels such as “Read more” or “Learn more,” which may not be descriptive enough for screen-reader users. We are updating link text and ARIA labels to ensure clear and unique purpose.
- Video and motion controls: The homepage hero contains video content that may not include visible pause/stop controls. We are implementing user-controllable playback options to support WCAG 2.2 requirements.
- Heading structure and page hierarchy: A small number of pages (e.g., Cookies page) currently contain duplicate H1 headings or inconsistent heading levels. These will be corrected to ensure a clear semantic structure.
- Form labels and error handling: Some form elements may not yet provide fully programmatic labels, required-field indicators, or accessible error messaging. These improvements are being implemented as part of our next development cycle.
- Keyboard focus visibility and sticky-header behaviour: We are reviewing and enhancing focus states to ensure sufficient visibility, and addressing scenarios where focus may be partially obscured by the global navigation header.
- Target size for interactive elements: Certain interactive elements (such as inline menu links) may not yet meet the WCAG 2.2 target-size requirements and will be updated accordingly.
- Cookie banner accessibility: We are reviewing the keyboard navigation, focus order, and dialog labelling of our cookie-consent interface to ensure full accessibility compliance.
- Alternative text: Some non-decorative images may lack optimal alternative text. We are conducting an alt-text review across the site and updating descriptions where required.
These known issues are being addressed through our in-progress accessibility and website refresh initiatives.
